is a guy we’ve talked about before.

Mike is a great source of information on manufacturing, and his work to combat the skills gap is very much appreciated by the manufacturing community. With the mikeroweWORKS foundation, he’s combating the “Work Smart, Not Hard” mantra that permeates so much of the conversation about education these days.

And recently,  of , a show about “insights to grow your business from the experts who’ve done it,” interviewed Mike.

Elliott, who calls Mike “the hero (and defacto voice) of blue collar workers,” spends time in the interview going over Mike’s mission to debunk “Work Smart, Not Hard,” and how he’s working to re-ignite the public’s passion in manufacturing and other blue collar professions.

Mike’s interview with Behind the Brand is worth a watch for a lot of reasons. Not only is he a great voice for careers like manufacturing–he’s also a very interesting, thoughtful guy. Oh yeah, and we love his voice, too.

No matter what you like about Mike–whether it’s his booming voice or his mission to convince people that it’s okay to work smart and hard–we recommend giving his interview a look. You can view the full interview below:
